| But I specifically had the old SZ Inconel manifolds in mind since they've since been discontinued and were known to eventually (inevitably) crack. Here's Greg's take on the matter, which makes sense in regards to inconel's thickness being limited to allow bending: [ http://twinturbo.net/nissan/300zx/forums/general/view/2493399/Video.html ] Someone else commented within that thread that it's not the inconel that cracks; it's usually the weld. Which leads to Mitch's point that a properly welded manifold won't crack. So if I'm understanding everyone's input corectly, inconel cannot be used in this application and proper welds are key (which I naturally assumed).
